Voyageur is a year round environmental education center that is owned and operated by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Twin Cities. Voyageur serves as a residential camp for Boys & Girls Club youth during the summer and offers the youth opportunities to visit camp throughout the school year.

Voyageur is located 25 miles west of the Twin Cities in Mound, Minnesota and serves as a year round resource for school groups, youth groups, weddings and as a conference/retreat center.

Voyageur runs a residential summer camp for Club members. Camp Voyageur runs June through August. Club members also visit Voyageur on weekends as well as school release days.

Voyageur is also available as a resource for schools as well as a retreat and conference center.

Directions & Map

From Minneapolis:
I-394 west (Hwy. 12) Exit on County Road 15 west.  Follow County Road 15 west as it winds around Lake Minnetonka (approx. 8 miles.) Follow County Road 15 west through Mound.  We are located 1.5 miles west of Mound.  VEC’s entrance is on the right.

From South Metro:

494 North to Highway 7 West.  Follow Highway 7(approx. 10 miles.)  Take a right onto County Road 44.  Follow County Road 44 (approx. 2.5 miles.)  Continue on Westedge Blvd until you reach the stop sign.  Take a left onto County Road 15, which is also Lynwood Ave.  VEC is located approximately one mile west on the right hand side.

Voyageur Lodge 

Newly constructed with a great hall, spacious tiled restrooms, and a fully equipped commercial kitchen, the Voyageur Lodge offers heated and air-conditioned dining and meeting space for up to 200.  The wrap around deck over looks the grassy meadow that leads to the lake front.  Call about reserving Voyageur for your next corporate meeting, planning retreat, birthday party, family reunion, or wedding.

Food Service and Dining

A carefully planned, well-balanced menu, including snacks, is provided by an experienced food service team. Voyageur provides healthy meals served family-style. Any special dietary needs (diabetes, vegetarians, food allergies, etc.) can be accommodated with advance notice.  Our dinning hall is a modern dining facility that can hold up to 105 persons per meal in air-conditioned comfort. Every meal includes hot food complete with fruits and vegetables. Water and milk are available at all meals.  Food service is required with overnight accommodations at Voyageur.



Our cabins, furnished with bunk beds, sleep up to 14 people and include restroom/shower facilities, and electricity. Overnight accommodations are available for up to 112 people. Our cabins are located on a scenic, wooded ridge overlooking our beaver pond.

Voyageur has a variety of meeting rooms to meet your needs.  Our meeting areas are spacious and comfortable. The setting in our meeting areas is bright and open. They create an environment that is pleasant, without the distractions of the office.
